100% Smoke Free Operation
Beginning in 2009 our facility will be totally smoke free. We will book nonsmoking hunters only. Included in your Semi-Guided Deer Hunt... Our 5 day semi-guided deer hunt includes tree stand hunting on our private, leased land, daily home cooked dinners, and lodging in our clean, roomy, nonsmoking, 2-1/2 bedroom cabin which accommodates up to 6 people with full bath and fully equipped kitchen. Bed linens are provided. All hunts for deer are stand hunts (tree stands, shooting houses, ground blinds). Hunters at all skill levels are welcome to book with us. We encourage husband and wife or parent and child adventures. As we approach our 12th season at BuckLore, we are frequently asked about trophy buck hunting. Our goal has always been for hunters to have the opportunity to harvest game. If you are fortunate enough to harvest a buck of a lifetime - all the better. You, the hunter, must decide for yourself what a "Trophy" is to YOU. Yes, there are some very impressive bucks on the land we hunt. But, you must be honest with yourself about your abilities. Are you physically fit? What are your shooting abilities? Woodsmanship? Comfort level in various weather conditions? All these factors must be taken into consideration for a realistic outcome. This is your hunt, we want you to enjoy it as we work hard for your success. You will Provide... Your vehicle is required for transportation to and from the hunting grounds (average drive time is 10-15 minutes). You will be responsible for your breakfast and lunch. Tree stand safety belts are mandatory. Portable tree stands are optional. You will need to bring all your personal items such as bath towels and toiletries. Bed linens that we provided are sheets, one blanket and pillow - you should bring extra pillow, blanket or sleeping bag if needed. Absolutely, no pets allowed. Whitetail Deer Season
Archery season opens late September running until mid October, followed by a week long muzzleloading season. The regular firearm season starts in late October and runs for approximately five weeks, and is followed again by one additional week of muzzleloader hunting. All deer hunting is done on private and leased land. We hunt deer in a wide range of areas - swamps, cutovers, hardwoods and agriculture. The rut usually starts mid November lasting past the end of the season. At this time of year there is usually snow on the ground most of the time.
Price for our five day, semi-guided hunt is $900(u.s.) per person (2008 & 2009 season). Dinners and lodging are included. There are no hidden costs or trophy fees. Use of freezer for hides and meat, and transportation to & from butcher during your stay cost you nothing. A $300 nonrefundable deposit is required to book your hunt. Personal check accepted only for deposit. Balance due in cash, traveler check or money order.
Reservations Reservations are required. To make a reservation, please telephone (518) 856-0138. We will hold the space you requested for 7 days, by which time we must receive a deposit of $300 per person, or the reservation will be voided to make room for others.
Book Early Because of our small size we fill our open hunting dates quickly. It is not uncommon to reserve, with a deposit, a year or two in advance, but by all means give us a call for possible last minute openings. We also maintain a stand by list for those able to get away on short notice.
License Sales New York State sporting licenses are sold on the premises. Location BuckLore Hunting Adventures is located on the Deer River in the foothills of New York's northern Adirondacks, one hour north of Lake Placid. |
